ZOO TAIPING & NIGHT SAFARI

ZOO TAIPING & NIGHT SAFARI

Zoo Taiping and the Night Safari are managed by a local Authority that is the Taiping Municipal Council. Its strategic location close to the foot of Larut Hill (Maxwell Hill) surrounded by the beautiful Taiping Lake Gardens makes it a unique, interesting and special zoo. The oldest public zoo in Malaysia and the only zoo located in Northern Peninsular Malaysia, it is also the first zoo to have two different products in the same location that is Zoo Taiping in the day and the Night Safari at night. The Night Safari is the first in Malaysia and the third in the world. The open concept used in displaying the animals gives the impression that the animals are in their natural habitats.

The beautiful natural settings with streams, lakes and an abundance of flora gives the zoo a unique advantage of being able to use nature to its best. The more than 1,300 animals from 200 species of birds, reptiles and mammals are thoughtfully exhibited in natural looking enclosures.

The Night Safari is a new attration in Taiping and is the first of its kind in Malaysia. Bathed in lighting similar to moonlight, the beauty and splendour of nature is enhanced. In an effort to maintain the experience of a natural environment, the Taiping Night Safari displays nocturnal animals in natural looking settings bathed in lighting similar to moonlight. This provide the opportunity for viitors to appreciate and value the treasures of nature while enjoying themselves. Visitors will be able to experience this environment similar to wildlife habitats where the sounds made by numerous creatures can be heard.
